Rodriguez's Catch Of The Day

Newcastle Herald

FROM the viewpoint of Anchors Seafood, Emerson Rodriguez was the one that got away.

But back at the helm as the new executive chef, he is now more like the restaurant's catch of the day.

Emerson started his chef's apprenticeship at Anchors before going on to work at some of Newcastle's best-known establishments.

He worked at the Radisson, the Mercury and Noah's on the Beach.

In the interim he has chalked up some impressive wins.

Last year alone he won the fourth year apprentice gold medal at Workskill Australia's NSW titles, three silver medals from the Catering Institute of Australia's Golden Chefs Hat awards at Alice Springs and the overall gold medal at the Catering Institute of Australia's NSW titles.
